Lessons
Long before this year's coronavirus pandemic, I have always prided myself on not only playing professionally, but teaching. Sharing what I have learned with anyone interested is not only a passion of mine but my personal way to give back. While I do charge for lessons, many students of mine come to my studio at a reduced or free rate. I'm not a teacher to make money - I'm a teacher to teach.
With the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, countless musicians have lost gigs, income sources, and human contact in an art that heavily relies on the artists with which you surround yourself. Students have also chosen wisely to play it safe and help flatten the curve by foregoing lessons at this time. I completely understand and wholeheartedly agree with their decision as do many musicians - social distancing will help lessen the effects of the virus and keep at-risk populations safe.
To help my students, fellow teachers and musicians get through this, I have chosen to upload my complete library of drum lessons. PDF's are below, with many videos to follow. Every PDF and video is free of charge. I only ask that you give credit should you use these with your students, and consider making an optional, small donation to offset the loss income due to the novel coronavirus.

"Lovely Day" Play-through:
Here we go over an easy to grasp warm-up, followed by breaking down the intro/verse/chorus of the classic Bill Withers song.

Flam Accents As Triplets:
This exercise brings the student through standard Flam Accents as triplets, adds a foot ostinato, orchestrates the pattern around the set, and finally adds dynamics to create a groove with a 12/8 feel.

Odd Time Signatures:
Chris explores three odd time signatures through simple warm-ups. Then, the student is brought through more advanced grooves based on those warmup exercises with dynamics and orchestration.

Snare Etude #19:
This 32 bar composition makes use of flams, rolls and accents. While designed for intermediate students, all drummers can polish these important techniques.
